In Jonesboro, the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society has opened its new shelter in a great location on Hwy. 18. It is run by a board of directors and the director of the shelter is Lisa Trice. She is a pet lover with business experience and is doing a great job taking care of these neglected animals. The shelter gets no public funds and is operated with private donations. There are several money making projects throughout the year including bake sales, garage sales and the annual auction in August. This year the auction/dinner/dance will be held at Godsey’s and tickets will be $50 each. A great way for a pet loving newcomer to get acquainted in the city is to volunteer for the auction. Just call the shelter and speak with Lisa at 870 932-5185. Tell her you read about the shelter on the Marcom Team blog!
