At Arkansas State in Jonesboro, a new mascot will soon be named to replace the ASU “INDIAN.” I hear that over 900 names of new mascots have been submitted to the University Committee, and from those 900 it will be narrowed down. I’ve heard some strange names myself — mosquitoes, rednecks, tornadoes. I’m just glad I’m not on the committee, as it will be so hard to please everyone. Some have declared themselves always “indians” though I think with the times it is appropriate to change the name. I may be in the minority. I’ll keep the blog updated as I learn more!!!
