Jonesboro Schools will face a bit more competition soon. The Brookland School Board voted Monday night to begin a football program with the 2008-2009 school year. Brookland has been growing and its location between Jonesboro and Paragould makes it an ideal place to live. Brookland, I understand, is trying to annex some more land, which will increase its population even more. I’m excited that the Brookland football team will add to the competitive spirit of Northeast Arkansas. And for the girls, this means cheerleading at Brookland!
