If you read yesterday’s Jonesboro Sun, January 20, you saw the story about St. Jude and how they helped a family by picking up all the expenses both for the treatment and to help the family survive economically. There are similar stories every day about this wonderful hospital. Fred and Susan Cathcart show their gratitude for the treatment their daughter received even though she didn’t survive her illness by organizing the Super Bowl S’travaganza which is held at the Fairgrounds on Super Sunday. This is the 15th annual Super Bowl fund raiser. The tickets are $100 and for that amount you will be entertained with the game, view many auction items, and enjoy delicious cooked on the premises food and homemade desserts. The food is served continually throughout the evening so a long line is never a problem. As someone commented to me, every parent should be grateful and spend the $100 just to say thank you God that there is a place to help the broken hearted parents after a child has been diagnosed with cancer. If you decide to be a part of this effort, please make your check payable to St. Jude and send it to 361 Southwest Dr., PMB 152, Jonesboro, Ar. 72401. Just enclose the address to which you would like your ticket(s) mailed. $85 of the ticket amount is tax deductible and you may also make a contribution in the amount comfortable for your budget if you cannot attend. The workers at the event also must buy tickets, this is how much they believe in and support the Cathcarts in this endeavor. mlm
