John of the Marcom Team had complicated spinal and cervical surgery last week. Our family feels so loved and supported by the meals, cards, flowers, visits, and most of all the prayers offered for his recovery. What it has also brought to my mind are the many people who care for their ill family members and live far away from their support system and particularly those who are alone in caring for the ill person. For the caregiver to maintain strength and health is a challenge each day, the decisions to be made, the meals to be prepared, etc. Just the cost of the medicines prescribed is daunting. My prayer is one of thankfulness for those who take a moment to show “I care” and I pray that in each caregiver’s life he or she will feel that “someone cares”. mlm
