I have been in touch with the Red Cross since a young friend, Lisa Trice, was stricken with brain cancer and needed platelets. I have become aware of the shortage of platelets and blood in Arkansas and last week was confronted with a scenario I hadn’t even thought about. My husband, during surgery, was given two units of blood and the next day was given two more units. What if it hadn’t been available? These things we take for granted……with the Red Cross hoping for a peaceful weekend in Arkansas because of the blood shortage. Please keep this need in mind. The Red Cross is located at Grant and Bernard St., the street behind Wal-mart. It only takes a little while to save someone’s life! mlm
